Our family home in the heart of the Ardennes, since 1975. Up to 8 guests, with 10 km of forest and two rivers around the village.
Here nature isn't a backdrop: it starts at the end of the garden and doesn't stop.
Daverdisse is surrounded by forest for some ten kilometres: some of the cleanest air in Belgium, and truly dark, quiet nights.
The Lesse and the Almache wind around the village. Clear water, wild banks and, in season, swimming spots we point out in the guide.
Trails link village to village for hours, on foot, by bike or mountain bike, starting from the house. The famous Transardennaise, the long-distance trail from La Roche-en-Ardenne to Bouillon, has a stage in Daverdisse.

When it rains or night falls early, the house takes over: a fire in the Jøtul stove, a big table for meals that go on and on, shelves of books and comics, board games for every age, and the pétanque court and playground just across the road.
Here, people truly reconnect. Away from noise and schedules, children play outside, adults take their time, and everyone leaves feeling they've spent real quality time together. We gave in and installed Wi-Fi, there's no escaping it, but there's no television: that's on purpose.
La Maison des Sœurs is a local-stone house next to the church in Daverdisse. Ceilings over 3 metres, period masonry, two living rooms, two terraces and a garden: the generous proportions of another age with today's comfort. The ground floor was redesigned to plans by architect Stéphane Millet.
"Make yourselves at home, and call us if anything is missing."
We have spent our holidays here since 1975 and left everything in place for you: spices and condiments, books, comics, board games, garden games. A lived-in house, carefully kept, that we are glad to share.
We renovated it without compromise: quality materials, premium boxspring beds like those in the best hotels, and a kitchen fitted with top-of-the-range appliances. Today's comfort, in a house that has kept its soul.
— Stéphane & Eva

When the little steam tram arrived in 1908, the first holidaymakers discovered Daverdisse. After the Second World War the village became a favourite retreat for city dwellers: families from Brussels, Flanders and the Netherlands bought or rented country houses here, and many have kept coming back, generation after generation. Even today, for its size, the commune has one of the highest numbers of holiday accommodations in Wallonia.
What brings them back? Nature as far as the eye can see, exceptionally clean air, endless walks from the village, and good food: local producers, a farm butcher, Ardennes cheeses and beers, from village brasserie to gourmet restaurant.
The village itself is tiny: around a hundred inhabitants and some fifty houses around the church and the square. Another advantage: Daverdisse sits at the centre of a cluster of places worth seeing, Redu and its bookshops, Han-sur-Lesse, Rochefort, Saint-Hubert, Bouillon or the Euro Space Center, while staying well away from mass tourism. No crowded streets or queues here: you enjoy the sights by day and the quiet of the village by night.
The climate helps too: in summer it never gets too hot, thanks to the rivers and forests that cool the air, and winter is never too harsh, especially by the stove. At the house, the sun is on your side: a south-facing terrace, a west-facing terrace for the evenings, and a south-west-facing garden.
